To prevent the risk of legionella and other waterborne pathogens, water systems such as water storage tanks should be inspected annually and if required, physically cleaned and disinfected. This may include all down services.
CWS operatives are all city and guild trained in tank clean / disinfection of services, sampling of services (including the Hydrop sampling protocol course), Legionella and microbiology awareness, confined space and COSHH trained.
CWS carry out disinfection services in accordance with PD855468, BS 8558, BS 8554 and the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.
CWS carry out disinfection for new builds, underground mains and temporary supplies, including;
– New installations including internal and external water services
– Major extensions or alterations to systems
– Where suspected contamination has occurred
– Where a system has not been in regular use or not regularly flushed.
